MARGARITA CHAVEZ developed VAMOS HABLAR an audio visual method for teaching students to speak Spanish after observing that existing Spanish courses rely mostly on teaching grammar and not spoken Spanish. She was able to equate both English and Spanish after completing a course in simultaneous interpretation at RICE UNIVERSITY. Ms. Chavez received her BS at the University of Texas and has been a Portugues professor at the University of Mexico.
